Our gait analysis is more than simply filming your running technique and identifying movement patterns.
Prior to your appointment, you will receive a detailed running questionnaire.
Together we review:
- Training history
- Weekly mileage and training structure
- Previous injuries
- Current symptoms
- Running goals
- Race preparation
- Footwear history
- Strength training habits
This conversation provides important context and helps identify factors that may influence running performance and injury risk.
Before stepping onto the treadmill, we assess key movement qualities relevant to running.
The screening may include:
- Single-leg balance and control
- Squat variations
- Hip mobility
- Ankle mobility
- Core stability
- Functional movement patterns
The goal is to identify potential asymmetries, mobility restrictions, movement compensations, and areas that may influence running mechanics.
Many runners underestimate the importance of preparation before training.
We go through a running-specific warm-up and activation routine designed to prepare the body for running demands.
This may include:
- Dynamic mobility exercises
- Running drills
- Glute activation
- Core engagement
- Neuromuscular preparation
You will also gain practical ideas that can be implemented into your own training routine.
Your running is recorded (approximately you will be running 10min) using high-speed video from multiple perspectives.
Views typically include:
Sagittal view (side)
Corona view (rear)
Additional angles when required
The recordings allow frame-by-frame analysis of movement throughout the running cycle.
After the session, the footage is carefully reviewed and analyzed.
You will receive a detailed report explaining the observations, their potential relevance, and practical recommendations.
The report is designed to be understandable, actionable, and relevant to your goals.
